Michelle Archer: between ancient frames and star wars Do you know how the old tree smells when you carefully clean it from layers of dust and varnish? This smell of time is tart, warm, with history. I know him well, because I am a restorer by profession. My fingers remember the texture of each object that passed through my hands: cracked frames, shabby chests of drawers, forgotten paintings.
